Winterization at the Patch
Winter is coming!
The Patch will be closed for
WINTERIZATION from October 31st-
November 4th. The Patch will reopen
November 5th.
Whew, our 2018 growing season has come to an end. It came with lots of challenges and struggles and honestly we're kinda glad to see it end. But that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy seeing you in the Patch and sharing what harvest we got with you our wonderful customers! We sure hope that you've enjoyed your produce from the Patch and sincerely hope that you will be back for more next season!
What do the farmers do in the winter you ask?
There's plenty to do at the Patch during the winter. There's equipment maintenance, building improvements, and land management (such as pruning the raspberries and managing our fence lines). Plus, we still have our flock of 150 egg laying chickens and there is plenty of farm planning to be done for the upcoming year.
Is anything available during the winter at the Patch?
Yes, beginning Monday November 5th our farm will be open daily from 9 am - 6 pm. At the Patch we have our farm fresh eggs, dilly beans, frozen strawberry rhubarb pies, local honey, and pure Wisconsin maple syrup!
Can't make it out to the Patch but would love to be eating from the Patch during the winter?
If you live in Mount Horeb we offer eggs delivered right to your doorstep twice a month! For more information and to get signed up email Farmer Kathy! Our eggs our super fresh and our chickens are free ranging making for extra tasty eggs! In addition, we will be selling at the two winter Mount Horeb Markets on November 17th and December 15th from 9 am - 1 pm inside the ELC.
Thanks so much for such a wonderful year! We are so grateful for all of our customers and your love for fresh, ripe, and delicious homegrown food!
Hope to see you in the Patch again soon,
Farmer Kathy and Farmer Ed
