Asparagus is Here!

It is officially spring on our harvest calendar!  The asparagus is here!  With the warm weather we had this week we were out pick, pick, picking.  I had some roasted in the oven last night and it was delicious.  Now is a great time to stock up on these first treats from the garden. Asparagus can be frozen easily, I even freeze cream of asparagus soup (why not heat up the kitchen before it gets to be 80 degrees outside).

In addition to asparagus, the Patch continues to have farm fresh eggs. Eggs and asparagus are available 9 am - 7 pm daily. Fresh eggs are delicious for egg salads, breakfast dishes, quiches, and my favorite deviled eggs.

Stop out to pick up some asparagus and eggs! Also, available honey, maple syrup, and dilly beans.  Next up...rhubarb.  Then it will be strawberry time!  We anticipate opening the patch for strawberry season sometime just before or just after Father's Day, stay tuned for more updates.
