Winter at the Patch
It's getting cold outside!
The Patch has finished its' winter preparations and we are now open daily 9 am - 6 pm.
What a great 2017 we've had here at the Patch! We really had wonderful growing weather throughout the summer and fall, all of our crops did very well. We sure hope that you've enjoyed your produce from the Patch and sincerely hope that you will be back for more next season.
Is anything available during the winter at the Patch?
Yes, the Patch is open daily from 9 am - 6 pm. At the Patch we have our farm fresh eggs, dilly beans, frozen strawberry rhubarb pies, and delicious frozen sweet corn. Many of our products make great teacher and hostess gifts so be sure to think ahead when checking your list this holiday season.
Can't make it out to the Patch but would love to be eating from the Patch this winter?
If you live in Mount Horeb we offer eggs delivered right to your doorstep twice a month! For more information and to get signed up email Farmer Kathy! Our eggs are super fresh and our chickens are free ranging making for extra tasty eggs! In addition, we will be selling at the two winter Mount Horeb Markets on November 11th and December 19th from 9 am - 1 pm inside the ELC.
What do the farmers do in the winter you ask?
There's plenty to do at the Patch during the winter. There's equipment maintenance, building improvements, and land management (such as pruning the raspberries and managing our fence lines). Plus, we still have our flock of 150 egg laying chickens and there is plenty of farm planning to be done for the upcoming year.
Thanks so much for such a wonderful year! We are so grateful for all of our customers and your love for fresh, ripe, and delicious homegrown food!
Hope to see you in the Patch again soon,
Farmer Kathy and Farmer Ed
